Going to London during Christmas time is one of the best decisions you can make. The lights and decorations are some of the best I've seen.
Tip: Make sure you buy an Oyster Card when you go to London. You can buy them at the Tube Stations or on the bus, and put a certain amount. I put 15 pounds and it lasted me the whole weekend. Once you have the card you are able to get on any busses or tubes, as long as you have enough money! On the tube maps, the destination is the last stop. So don't get confused if you can't find the place you're going.
Christmas Markets:
Here you can buy gifts for your loved ones (or yourself). They even have areas where you can get food.
By the market is next to Shakespeares Global Theater :)

Walking Tours:
Today I made my way my walking tour with Strawberry Tours. They're a walking tour company that gives free tours around the city. The tour range from all ages and includes different parts of the city. During the tour we saw different areas of downtown London and learned about the history. We even got to see the outside of where the Prime Minister works. Plus London isn't terribly cold in the winter, which makes a great activity during Christmas.

SoHo:
On this walking tour you learn everything about rock n' roll! Here you walk past Chinatown, where the rolling stones were founded, where Jimmy Hendrix was found, and more. This tour is not for children, but it's entertaining non the less.
Then we came across Carnaby Street. By far my favorite street in the entire world! Here we saw the "Spirit of Soho" too. Each year around Christmas they decorate this street differently. One of the best streets I've ever seen.
Winter Wonderland:
This is an area known in London around Christmas time. They have anywhere from food, gifts, and a theme park. You do have to pay a certain amount to go on the rides. I didn't go on the rides but there were plenty of options to choose from!
Buckingham Palace:
Even though you can't go inside during Christmas, it's a great spot to see. I suggest going at a time where it's not going to be as busy. You can get better pictures and not have to worry about a lot of people in your way. What's more magical than seeing a palace during Christmas time?

Christmas Lights:
In my opinion London has the best Christmas lights. All across the city the lights are in the shape of angels. The lights mimic how an angels wing would fly. Besides the angels there are snowflake lights around the city as well. It brings the Christmas spirit alive.

London is a great location during Christmas.
